The Illinois School Nutrition Association (ILSNA) in partnership with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Nutrition Department are excited to announce a pre-conference opportunity!
Foundational Leadership for School Nutrition Professionals
This is a focused, 4-hour training program designed to equip new leaders of independently operated School Nutrition Programs with the knowledge and resources necessary to successfully manage their District's programs. "Foundational Leadership" focuses on the core knowledge, high-level decision-making and overarching responsibilities essential for successfully operating a compliant, fiscally sound and effective school meal program under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).
Target Audience: New leaders and directors assuming decision-making responsibilities for independently operated school food service programs participating in the NSLP. This training is specifically beneficial for those who hold ultimate accountability for the school meal program on behalf of their District.
Focus of Session: The program is designed to concentrate on the foundational overview of program administration, compliance and financial management
Important Note: This training does not cover daily operations, meal preparation or staff management topics.
